Head of the Juries LEE Doo-yong Film Director
Debuted with a film drama The Lost Wedding Veil in 1969, he got New Director Award from PaekSang Arts Award. The Hut in 1981 gave him an honor to be awarded with ISDAP prize from Venice Film Festival and he got Best Film Award from Daejong Film Award with Mulleya Mulleya, which was screened in Cannes Film Festival. He served as a president of Korea Film Directors¡¯ Society Incorporated in 1995 and also worked as a head of the juries of Daejong Arts Award and other famous film festivals.
LEE Jin-suk Film Producer
She made her debut with Die Bad (2000) and laid the foundation as a woman film producer by working If You Were Me 1, 2 and 4 that are made by National Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Korea. She produced Bewitching Attraction (2006) and currently works as a producer for a horror movie that will be released this summer.
YOON Sung-ho Film Director
He continually worked with short films such as If I Wear A Sword In The Stone (2004) Seongho, The Right Wing Boy (2004), Nothing¡¯s Gonna Stop Us Now (2005), Portfolio (2006) that seems like documentary or film drama. Milky Way Liberation Front (2007) seemed to make him famous and successful in the field, but in really he worked as a director only for omnibus films such as If You Were Me 4(2008) and Short! Short! BANG Eun-jin Film Director
Playing as a theater actress, she debuted in 1994 with The Tae Baek Mountains made by the director IM Kwon-taek. Appeared in various films like 301-302, Farewell My Darling, and Push! Push!, She got PaekSang Arts Awards (1993), Best Actress Award (1995), and Film Critics¡¯ Best Actress Award (1996). Then, she directed a short film Ain¡¯t No Maid (2004) and made her debut with Princess Aurora (2005). Her recent work is If You Were Me 4: Blue Birds On The Desk (2008).
KIM Young-jin Film Critic
He majored French in In-ha University and got his master degree in Film Study from Chung-ang University. He worked as an editor in ¡®Film 2.0¡¯ and as a chief manager in magazine ¡®A Film Quarterly of Theory & Practice¡¯. He is a writer of Critic Review Publication and worked as one of many famous film critics. He also serves as a professor in Myung-ji University.
IM Sung-min Film Actress
In 1991 she started her career as an actress of KBS 14th open employment and in 1994 she passed KBS 20th open employment as an announcer. After worked as an announcer, she started her career as an actress again and appeared in various television dramas such as Doctor Bong . She is also shown in many films like My Boss, My Teacher (2005) and First Amendment (2003) and she recently finished filming.
Head of the Jury Film Director IM Kwon-taekUndisputedly the most respected and influential director in Korea. Through his 100 films from Farewell Tumen River(1962) to Beyond the Years(2007), he has consistently promoted humanism and Korean colors. He won Best Director at Cannes International Film Festival in 2002 and Honorary Golden Bear at Berlin International Film Festival in 2005.
Jury Cinematographer JEONG Il-sungDebuted with JO Keung-ha¡¯s Farewell Sorrow(1957) and created masterpieces in Korean film history with directors like KIM Soo-young, KIM Ki-young and IM Kwon-taek. He has been working with IM Kwon-taek for over 20 years from Mandara(1081) to Beyond the Years(2007). The 7times winner of Best Cinematography at Daejong Film Award, he is apparently the best cinematographer in Korea.
Jury Film Actor JO Jae-hyunWorking in film, threater and TV, he is recognized as the actor with originality and his own colors. He presented strong, masculine characters in many films such as Crocodile and Bad Guy, but never settled in a particulr genre or character. Viewers and audiences love him for his sincerity and versatility. He has been helping youth culture and its development in the field of film and media, including lecturing last year at 9 th SIYFF Camp.

He worked in films like Woman on the Beach, Untold Scandal and The Uninvited as an executive producer, and is now the president of the film production company ¡®Bom¡¯
Jury Animation Director LEE Yong-baeWon the Golden Prize at Korea Cartoon and Animation Festival with the short animation, The Shower. He is particularly interested in youth culture and education as well as in independent animation. Currently a professor at Kaywon School of Art & Design.
Jury Film Critic BYEON Seong-chanA researcher at Research Machine ¡®Suyu+Trans.¡¯ He won the 7 th Vine21. Award for film critic, and has been writing on diverse areas from independent human rights films to Hollywood films, crossing the boundaries between philosophy and film.
Jury Film Director BYEON Young-jooDebuted with documentary To Live as a Woman in Asia(1993). Through the series of documentary, Habitual Sadness, she brought out the hidden stories of Korean women forced into sex slavery for Japanese army during World War 2. She directed Ardor(2002) and Flying Boys(2004), and has been broadening her interests into film drama.
Joo Jin-suk / President of the Jury Professor at Chung-Ang University's department of film studies. She chaired at the Korean Film Critics Association and the Korean chapter of the International Federation of Film Critics, and currently is chairperson at the Korean Visual Arts Association, executive director at the Asiana International Short Film Festival, director at the Women In Film.
Kang Su-yeon / Actress She won the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival, one of the world's best three film festivals, at the age of 21, and is now recognized as a model figure who contributed to the rising status of the Korean movie industry in the world. She showed remarkable performances in the movies such as "Aje aje bara aje ", "Blue in Your Mind", "Black Jack", "Rainbow Trout", and "Hanbando". Currently, she's busy crossing over the two realms of soap operas and movies.
Lee Myung-se / Movie director He debuted in 1988 with "Gagman" that was full of creativity and delicate sensitivities, and has been very interested in expolring the issues such as what movie is and what its possibilities are. The fruits of this studies would be "My Love, My Bride", "First Love", "Nowhere to Hide", and "Dualist", just to name a few. His new feature film which he produced with much enthusiasm and energy is about to be released.
Kim Sae-hoon / Animation director . professor at the departnem of animation at Sejong University. Graduated from Hong-ik University and received a Master's Degree on Visual Design from the same university. Achieved the M.F.A. from the department of film and TV at the University of California, LA. He did his Ph.D at Joong-Ang University's Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film. Directed "The Bird is No Longer Living in Their City" and many other animated films, and lecturing at various film workshops such as the "Workshop on Film Animation Producing Methods". He was President of the Jury at "Donga-LG International Festival of Comics and Animation", host of the TV program titled "Anitopia" aired on the EBS, and principal programmer at the SICAF. Currently, he's professor at Sejong University's department of Comis and Animation, and chief producer for feature animated films at the KNP Pictures Inc.
Lee Dong-jin / Film journalist . film critic After graduating from the department of theology at Seoul National University, he worked as a film journalist at the Chosun Ilbo. Wrote several books such as "Lee dong-jin's Cinema Letters", "Oh Tae-jin, Lee Dong-jin's Cinema Journeys", "Only If We Could Suffer Together", and "If We Could Start All Over Again", just to name a few. Currently, he a CEO of Lee Dong-jin Dot Com Inc. and is as busy as ever.
Jung Soo-wan / Programer Graduated from the department of English Literature at Ewha Womans University. Having received a Ph.D. at Dongguk University's department of Theater and Films, she went on to study at Waseda University, acquring another Ph.D. on film studies. Currently, she is assistant professor at Dongguk University's Graduate School of Imagage and Infornation Technology, and a chief programmer at the Junju International Film Festival. She's passionate about movies that capture the ideas and creativity of the youth.
SIYFF Youth Juries There are also others who are acting with the professional Juries of the SIYFF. They are the young juries filled with passion and devotion for film. An 'SIYFF Youth Jury's Awards' will be awarded after watching and discusing all the films that are nominated.
